WHAT IS THIS?
This page displays severe weather outlooks from the NOAA Storm Prediction Center (SPC) for Days 1 through 8. These outlooks show the risk of severe thunderstorms including tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds across the contiguous United States.
The map visualizations and images are generated for easy viewing and sharing. All data comes directly from official SPC products.
SPC OFFICIAL VIEW
SPC Official
The raw SPC outlook exactly as they publish it. Uses official SPC colors, labels, and probability percentages. Best for users who are familiar with SPC products.
OUTLOOK TYPES
Overview / Categorical (Days 1–3)
The overall severe weather risk for the day. In SPC Official view this includes categories like Marginal, Slight, Enhanced, Moderate, and High.
Tornado / Hail / Wind (Days 1–2)
Hazard-specific outlooks that show where each threat is favored. Each hazard has its own percentage areas and supporting discussion.
Intensity (Days 1–2, Friendly view only)
Shows how significant the severe risk may become inside the broader outlook area when that guidance is available.
Long Range (Days 4–8)
Used when severe weather is possible several days out. These outlooks are less detailed because confidence is lower at longer lead time.
