Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 20, 2025
Last Updated: November 20, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how WeatherPower (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, apps, bots, APIs, and any other services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Who We Are
WeatherPower is a weather intelligence platform that provides live radar, alerts, and tools to help you stay ahead of changing conditions. We care about privacy and design our products with safety and transparency in mind.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three main ways:
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account & profile details: If you create an account or sign in, we may collect your name, email address, password (hashed), and any optional profile details you choose to add.
- Support & feedback: When you contact us, we collect the information you include in your messages, such as screenshots, device details, or your contact information.
- Alert & content submissions: If you submit custom alerts, notes, or other content through our tools (including admin dashboards or WeBot), we store that content to operate the feature.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage data: Pages you view, buttons you tap, features you use, search queries, timestamps, and basic interaction logs. We use this to understand what works, what breaks, and what to improve.
- Device & technical data: Browser type, device model, operating system, app version, language, IP address, and performance/crash data. This helps us keep WeatherPower fast and reliable.
2.3 Location Data
With your permission, we may collect approximate or precise location data from your browser or device to:
- Show local radar and nearby alerts.
- Provide more accurate forecasts and notifications.
- Remember your favorite locations for quick access.
You can change your mind at any time by adjusting location permissions in your device or browser settings. WeatherPower may still function, but some features may be less accurate or limited.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Services: Deliver radar, alerts, forecasts, notifications, and account features.
- Personalize your experience: Remember saved locations, themes, and settings so WeatherPower feels like “your” dashboard each time you visit.
- Improve and develop new features: Analyze usage trends, fix bugs, test new ideas, and make performance upgrades.
- Protect the Services: Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, security incidents, and other harmful activity.
- Communicate with you: Send important service notices, weather-related alerts, and (where allowed) optional product news or feature updates. You can opt out of non-essential messages.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (Where Applicable)
In some locations, we process personal data only when we have a legal basis to do so, such as:
- Your consent (for example, location services or certain cookies).
- Performance of a contract (providing your account and the core Services).
- Legitimate interests (improving our products, maintaining security).
- Compliance with legal obligations (responding to lawful requests, enforcing our terms).
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with trusted third parties that help us deliver and improve WeatherPower, such as:
- Mapbox – maps, tiles, and visualization layers for radar and base maps.
- RainViewer – radar and precipitation data used for live and past imagery.
- Firebase – secure authentication, cloud storage, and backend infrastructure.
- ElevenLabs – AI-generated audio for WeBot voice alerts and similar features.
- OpenWeather – global forecast and current condition data.
- Analytics providers – services that help us understand usage patterns in aggregated form.
- Service providers – hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, and other operational tools that act on our behalf.
- Legal or safety reasons – when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, protect someone’s safety, or defend our rights.
- Business transfers – if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or similar event, your information may be transferred as part of that process.
Each third party has its own privacy practices; we encourage you to review their policies if you want more detail.
6. Cookies & Similar Technologies
WeatherPower uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate and improve the Services. These may be:
- Essential: Needed for core functionality like secure login and basic page loading.
- Preferences: Used to remember your locations, theme, language, and other choices.
- Analytics: Help us understand traffic and usage patterns so we can make better design and performance decisions.
You can control cookies through your browser or device settings. Some features may not work properly if you disable certain types of cookies, but the core experience should still function.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When data is no longer needed, we will delete it or de-identify it.
If you request deletion of your account, we will remove or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information for legal, security, or operational reasons.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to help protect your information, including HTTPS encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. Only authorized WeatherPower personnel and systems can access sensitive data.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we continuously work to strengthen our safeguards and monitor for potential issues.
9. Children’s Privacy
WeatherPower is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us using the details below.
10. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete certain information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Restriction or objection: In some cases, request limits on how we use your data.

You can exercise many of these rights directly in the app or website settings. For other requests, contact us using the details below, and we will respond in line with applicable laws.
11. International Data Transfers
WeatherPower may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. We take steps to help ensure that transfers are done in compliance with applicable data protection laws and that your information remains protected.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, technical updates, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
If we make material changes, we may provide a more prominent notice (for example, in-app banners or emails). Your continued use of the Services after the updated policy becomes effective means you agree to the revised terms.
